About the Founder

Tracey West is a specialist writer and broadcaster on sustainable living, founder of InterNational Downshifting Week now in its 9th year and author of The Book of Rubbish Ideas, now available as an eBook.

She was made an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts for her book and work promoting simple, green living at grassroots.

She is a columnist for The Green Parent and freelances for the green and national press and magazine market on eco-issues.

Tracey runs a literary workshop in Lyme Regis on How to Unlock the Book in You and classes for  Organic Bread Making.

She’s a proud Trustee for the National Association for Children of Alcoholics and Patron for the Women’s Action Network Dorset.

Tracey was developing a series for television called The Great Downshift with Not So Silent Partner Productions, but all has now fallen silent.  She hopes to realise the dream of bringing these important stories to you and positively influencing this incredible worldwide movement.

She is currently writing the follow-up to her best-selling Book of Rubbish Ideas and actively seeking individuals who have products and services that help reduce waste, promote sustainability and have ethical protocols – if you are such a soul, please get in touch!
